The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College is committed to creating an accessible festival environment for people with disabilities. Below is an outline of the steps we’ve taken this year to create a virtually accessible festival:

Closed Caption Films

A number of films at the 2021 Athena Film Festival have closed captioning available. There is a section on our website which details the feature films that have captioning available. For short films, if closed captioning is available, it will be indicated on the film page under the film description.

All pre-recorded events will have closed captioning available.

Live Captioning

Live captioning will be available for all live Q&As and conversations.

Subtitled Films

All foreign-language films will be screened in their original language with English subtitles.

Discounted Tickets Available for Students

For students of any age, we offer discounted tickets to all of our films and shorts programs. Please email to request a promo code for student tickets.

All panels, and conversations are free and available for everyone via the Athena Film Festival YouTube page.

The Athena Film Festival website is optimized for screen-readers.
